Gerhard is a Director of Nokiaīs Corporate Development Office.
Gerhard Romen joined NOKIA Corporation in 1999, having spent almost 2 decades in the IT industry and especially the software and solutions sector. At Nokia, Gerhard is focussing on New Business Solutions and has been part of building Nokiaīs NFC Solutions since 2003. He is also a representative of Nokia at the NFC Forum and the Vice-Chairman of the NFC Forumīs board.
Before joining Nokia Gerhard was VP with Borland International, a manufacturer of software development tools, responsible for their EMEA region. Prior to that, he held various senior management positions with client/server and database specialist Sybase and SoftSwitch Inc., a software vendor for Email and EDI switching. Gerhard started his career as a programmer analyst in the applications development environment and before studied Economics at Hamburg University.
