Heikki Huomo is VP and General Manager of the Market Sector Team Near Field Communication of NXP Semiconductors’ Identification Business. In this role he has overall business responsibility for NXP’s NFC activities.

Heikki is an NFC expert with a broad industry background. In his career he established a very strong track record in developing challenging technical solutions to meet changing market needs. Before joining NXP he was Technical Director and CTO at Innovision, an IP and tag provider for NFC. Prior to that he was 10 years at Nokia where he was a central contributor to early NFC activities and held various executive roles at Nokia Ventures, Nokia Mobile Phones and Nokia Research Center. Before that he held positions at the national Technical Research Center of Finland managing instrument technology development and coordinated the initial Space Technology programme for Finland. Heikki has a MSc degree in Physics from Helsinki University of Technology, Department of Physics where he also had a 10 year career in experimental solid state physics research and advanced education. He has about 30 patents and patent applications in NFC and radio technology in general.
