Jonathan Collins,
Principal Analyst, RFID & Contractless,
ABI RESEARCH

Based in London as part of ABI Research’s RFID and Contactless research practice, Jonathan Collins is lead analyst for contactless commerce, and also covers selected RFID topics.

A veteran of the RFID industry on both sides of the Atlantic, Jonathan has long journalistic and editorial experience covering the RFID and contactless commerce industries, and he lends a critical European perspective to ABI Research’s market coverage in these fields.

Prior to joining ABI Research, Jonathan was European Editor of RFID Journal, in addition to carrying out frequent public engagements representing the journal as speaker, panel member, and panel chairman at industry events in the US and Europe. 

He was previously Senior Editor for RFID Journal, based in New York; earlier still, he was a freelance writer and analyst and wrote as a contributing analyst covering US wireless operators for Current Analysis.  Jonathan has also held editorial posts as Senior Editor/Wireless for Tele.com magazine, editor for Network Briefing Daily, Co-Editor-in-Chief for IBM Systems User, and staff writer for Computer Business Review. 

He holds an M.Sc in Computer Science from London University and a BA in European Cultural History from Middlesex University.
